Description
Head-quarters of Ferozepore District and tahsil on the old high bank of the Sutlej, and a frontier arsenal facing the Sikh kingdom before 1846.
Historical notes
Its magazine and cantonment were the British base in the First Anglo-Sikh War (battles of Mudki and Ferozeshah, 1845). Now Firozpur.
