Description
Walled capital of Jodhpur (Marwar) State beneath Mehrangarh fort, whose wall the Imperial Gazetteer describes as 20 to 70 feet high with the Jai and Fateh gates.
Historical notes
Largest state in Rajputana by area; the Jodhpur-Bikaner Railway and the Jodhpur Lancers were state institutions of note. Now in Rajasthan.
