Description
Fortified post at the summit of the Khyber Pass, the furthest British garrison on the road to the Afghan frontier.
Historical notes
Occupied during the Second Afghan War (1878-80) and permanently garrisoned with the Khyber Rifles; the Khyber Pass Railway reached it in 1925.
