Description
Himalayan hill station in Dehra Dun District; the Imperial Gazetteer records that 'Mussoorie became a sanitarium in 1826' and had a cantonment population of 3,711.
Historical notes
Landour, adjoining, was made a convalescent depot for European troops in 1827; the station became one of the most popular health resorts of northern India.
