Description
Coromandel port in Tanjore District, taken from the Dutch in 1781 and the terminus of the South Indian Railway's coastal line.
Historical notes
A principal embarkation port for indentured and free Tamil emigration to Ceylon, Burma and Malaya. Now Nagapattinam.
