Description
Head-quarters of Sialkot District and tahsil on the Wazirabad-Jammu branch of the North-Western Railway, with a large cantonment.
Historical notes
Its garrison mutinied in July 1857 and marched on Delhi before being destroyed at Trimmu Ghat; later famous for sports goods and surgical instruments. Birthplace of Muhammad Iqbal.
